Caribbean Cruise!!!

Josh and I just got back from a cruise to the Western Caribbean!!! We visited Cozumel and Costa Maya Mexico. We had so much fun even though the weather was a little colder than we had anticipated. There were record lows in Florida and the places we went. It was even warmer in Utah one day than it was in Florida! How crazy is that?! But we still had a blast exploring and seeing a new part of the world.

At our first stop in Cozumel, we had planned to go snorkeling, but they canceled all the water activities because of high winds and cold weather. But we didn't let that get us down. We rented a jeep and cruised around the little island of Cozumel, going down rugged, bumpy back roads and exploring the area. In the afternoon, the weather was a little bit better, so we stopped at a few beaches and played in the warm water. We found that the water temperature was about 10 degrees warmer than the air temperature, so we didn't want to get out. After we finally decided it was time to head back, it started looking pretty cloudy again, so we made drove the jeep back to where we rented it, and made some final purchases of Mexican vanilla, a picture frame, and wooden Mayan calendar. Here are some photos we took in Cozumel!

Our next stop was in Costa Maya Mexico! It was probably the hilight of the trip! We were able to go see two ancient Mayan Ruin cities and it was so fun! It took about two hours to drive inland to the ruins and two hours back, but we had an awesome tour guide who told us lots of interesting things the entire trip. He had a masters degree in Mayan history and was very smart. He told us everything from how their number system worked to the concern about the world ending in 2012, astronomy, and all sorts of things about the Mayan people and their culture. It was really neat to learn all about it and gave us a greater appreciation and excitement for what we saw. It was really cool too because our tour group cosisted of us and one other couple, so we pretty much got to do whatever we wanted! The ruins we went to aren't overpopulated with tourists either because they are further inland and haven't been fully uncovered yet. So we got to run up the stairs of the ruins and climb and play on them! It was really neat! We felt like the only people there! Here are some pictures of what we saw!

What We've Been Up To!

This year, Josh and I decided to be Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler for Halloween! Great idea, right?! We thought so! Here are some pictures of our costumes at the Halloween party we went to at my friend Heather's house! :)

Irene and Sherlock ;)

These are my friends Jessie and Heather from college!

The mysterious Sherlock Holmes

We also carved some pumpkins tonight with my daddy, and they turned out pretty good I think!

And, not last weekend, but the weekend before, Josh and I went up to Jackson to visit his family and have a little vacation! We got to go hiking in the Tetons with his mom and grandma, and it was so pretty and lots of fun!

This is hilarious! Josh and his grandma were making a teter totter out of a huge log we came across and you can only imagine what is about to happen. Just watch ;)
